What is CMake, and where is it installed on XSEDE?
CMake is a cross-platform, open-source family of tools designed to build, test, and package software. CMake is used to control the software compilation process using simple platform and compiler independent configuration files. CMake generates native makefiles and workspaces for use in your compiler environment of choice. CMake can support complex environments requiring system introspection, pre-processor generation, code generation, and template instantiation. In addition to controlling the build process, CMake includes CTest for testing and CPack for packaging. For more, see the CMake web site.
